About the Name Change:
Last July the state of Texas sent us a cease and desist order for using the name Mess With Texas, saying the name was too similar to their anti litter slogan, “Don’t Mess With Texas”. We found this funny but knew you can’t fight the state of Texas so we changed the name to MWTX (The name that we ended up passing on was “The Event that Can’t Pay Bands Nearly As Much Money As Rachel Ray’s Party” but some copyright laws prevented us from using that one as well. Oh well.. In addition to changing the name we moved to a new location, a full city block at the crossroads of E. 6th and San Marcos. The fest is still outdoors, still in the sun, still free, still open to the public, and now two days, March 19th & 20th.
