DANIEL FRANCIS DOYLEWe Bet Our Money On You 12″/cd (weshotjr)- Plano native and Austin resident DFD releases his first full length vinyl, courtesy of Dallas’ We Shot Jr.com records. First pressing is limited to 500 copies. DFD is a one-man multi-tasking noise rock act who plays drums while singing and using live guitar and vocal loops. He has previously released the cd Who Are Your Customers and a split 7″ with Koji Kondo, his side titled History of Consideration.

JAPANDROIDS (JPNDRDS) – Post-Nothing (unfamiliar) – I was looking forward to having these guys play at the Cavern in June, but as I wrote a few days ago, their whole tour has been cancelled/postponed due to the emergency hospitalization of one of the members. Japandroids‘ formula consists of a few lines of lyrics repeated over and over again throughout the song. Post-Nothing is hook heavy with portions being reminiscent of a lo-fi Smashing Pumpkins era Siamese Dream; especially the final track “I Quit Girls”.

The WARLOCKSThe Mirror Explodes (tee pee) – On their fifth album, The Mirror Explodes, The Warlocks continue creating a noisy and lush sonic fortress of psychedelic gloomy drone rock. Despite numerous line-up changes and personal issues within the band, The Warlocks maintain their dark sound without veering off a path that would lead them to be unfamiliar.

YOUNG WIDOWS/BONNIE ‘PRINCE’ BILLY Split 7” (temporary residence ltd) First of four Young Widows split 7’s that will combine to form one image.  The 2nd release will feature Japanese/US noise rockers, Melt Banana. Spend, Spend, Spend.
